About Godshill

Here you have two pretty villages within one. The second being the outstanding model village which sprang to life in 1952 from behind the walls of The Old Vicarage. Here you get magical glimpses of lovely models, shrubs and trees, enchantingly depicting the almost forgotten world of yester-year.

Godshill lies in an area of rich scenic beauty with beautiful meadows and old farm properties. Dense wooded areas are home to an abundance of wildlife and on a quiet stroll you will easily spot red squirrels, badgers, foxes, little owls, and buzzards. There are lovely wild plants amongst a carpet of early spring daffodils, and in the ponds you can see swans, kingfishers, geese and ducks. There is also a near-by Falconry Centre and a Welsh Pony Stud.

This is a gorgeous little spot which makes an ideal 'away from the crowds' location in which to sample peaceful Island life.
